How long can 2010 Dodge Journey last?

Asked by Austin Dec 15, 2021 at 01:14 PM about the 2010 Dodge Journey R/T FWD

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

I just bought a 2010 Dodge Journey with 179k miles.
It had 1 owner before me and was told it was taken
care of. If I do regular maintenance services and
recommended oil changes how long can I expect it to
last? Any recommendations on ways to keep it
going? Thanks

I would keep an eye on the coolant levels so that it never over heats , All the care in the world won't stop a head gasket from wearing out . I hope you didn't pay top dollar for it , if it lasts 5 years you're lucky

179,000 miles, if it makes to 200,000 you will be lucky. They usually don’t make this long without some major failure.

Depends entirely on how it's actually cared for. I've seen a Dodge Journey with over 400,000 miles all original--the owner was very meticulous. Best bet is to join a forum for that specific car and find out what other owners recommend to keep it reliable. With care, you could have it for a very long time yet.
