So what? Yes, it's a recall... just like airbags and other car manufacturers. issues... At least Subaru is owning this as a problem and dealing with it in a forthright manner. Look, there's a lot of car manufacturers out there who just deny, deny, deny problems until people die! You know who I'm talking about, right? I don't think it's a widespread problem, but, its nice to know they are being cautious. It doesn't rain much in LA, I've never had any problems with my wipers and even if the motor melted, Subaru will be responsible for fixing anything related to any damage it causes, so , I'm really not worried about it.

Handling failures in a responsible manner? Subaru?? You've got to be kidding, mark, extraordinarily naive, or being facetious. Sigh....

Ernie, very nice, , you sell and repair Subaru's,. BUT, you lack confidence in them with statements like this above? I wonder why you advise people to purchase these cars? Again, the news about the recent recall was all over the Internet, you really think that SUBARU of America wants to have this kind of press and NOT fix the problem? REALLY????

SOA has a LONG history of successfully dodging bullets. The list is long, and varied. Now that they're 3% of US sales and more visible the market radar and Feds may force changes in behavior...most grudgingly. Your short-term perspective is extremely naive and lacks knowledge of history, so please stop being so argumentative and incredulous. It's an old story....

From bad CVs and premature rust in the 80s through bad HGs in the 90's and noughts to funky blocks and CVT in the 10s...just to name a VERY few....
