2010 Elantra-should I replace the oeiginal low profile tires for a safer ride

Question type: General

I bought new snow tires and rims, now I feel safer in the snow (and can actually driv the cat in 2' of snow). Now I am wondering if I should get regular all weather tires for the summer instead of these low profile tires originally on the vehicle for safety reasons.

As long as your low profile tires have good tread, I wouldn't spend the money. Low profile tires actually handle better than the higher profile. They are more stable for cornering and higher speeds. Will be fine for summer driving. If they are extra wide, just be careful in the rain. Wider tires will hydro plane quicker than a thinner tire.
