the vent in my ml350 2010 turns on 30 minutes after the vehicle is turned off and stays on until drivers door is opened....

2010 ml350:  the Ac vent will start up after about 30 minutes after the vehicle is turned off.  I check on it an hour later and the vent is still on.  It only turns off after I open the door.  I've taken to the MB service dept. and they tell me it's normal.
