Sport Trac cargo cage vs 2-piece tonneau cover

Question type: Car Customization

I'm trying to add a used Sport Trac cargo
cage to my 2010 Sport Trac that came with
a factory-installed 2-piece bed cover. The
problem is the bed cover has 2 inside rear
brackets than block the cargo cage from
rotating into the bed. And...if those
brackets were not there, the cargo cage
still would not rotate onto the bed because
it makes contact with the back half of the
tonneau cover folded onto the front half.
The cargo cage attaches perfectly to the
side bolts, and would have no problem
rotating into the if there were no tonneau
cover. Is there another Ford cargo cage
that would work hand-in-hand with my
Ford factory-installed tonneau cover?

Yes there is! I found it myself...used...on Craigslist. Works perfectly.

The one I found was a Ford factory-installed bed extender...a little shorter...and more importantly, it was styled a little differently to clear the tonneau cover brackets when rotating from the open tailgate position. Unlike the other chrome bed extender models I've seen, this one is black...with a finish similar to what you would see on metal lawn furniture. Don't think they make it in a chrome finish on the metal "pipes" that form the extender framing.

There’s a stag box in cargo area stag box. The box is about 3 ft wide but I can’t open it
