I am wondering if you have any idea what is going on with the gas pump at the station that keeps turning off

It is more likely your car than the pump, although the pump nozzle does have a vapor recovery that if it gets liquid gas i it that will happen. Try another pump, or station. If it still does it, your EVAP vent is clogged, canister saturated and not being purged, something like that in the EVAP Is the Check Engine Light on in your car?

Try filling up at a slower rate. I found that some pumps pump so fast that the fuel bubbles up into the neck of the fuel tank and shuts the pump temporarily.

I am having the same problem with my 2011 Escape for the past several weeks. While filling it up from low/empty, it will turn off after 10 seconds or so of pumping. This has happened at several different stations. While at the Ford dealer for a power steering recall, they said it's not a recall issue.

We have two Ford hybrid Escapes and both have the same problem. We had the dealer repair my wife's Escape (problem with vapor recovery system, i believe) at a not insignificant price. I will just fill the other one very s-l-o-w-l-y. I am ot happy about the problem or the resolution!

Tank not venting vent tube clogged at end or somehow got a link in it. If check engine light is on probably a p0442 bad purge solenoid.

Same issue. Ford Escape 2013. Multiple stops before being able to fill tank fully. I've also found puddles of, what I believe, is gas on my driveway after filling tank.

Pull the nozzle back slightly, Ford can't design a fuel tank worth shit so you can't have the pump nozzle fully inserted. I keep mine a 1/4 inch back and don't have the issue unless I forget to keep that buffer so it can vent itself. Ford is worthless and never has a good solution, just more ways to rake in the dough.

I had the same problem with my 2012 and I took off the filler hose and In the tank inlet was a door I pushed on it with a screwdriver and it popped open. Fills up like it’s supposed to now.

Well it sounds like you all have the gas fumes vent hose plugged up. Possibly by a very small creamy spider web in it. Check it out. You never know. Not a Ford issue, but a spider issue. Mario

My 2012 would not take gas and I found there is a safety flap on gas tank inlet. It’s to keep gas from running out if car flips in an accident. You can use a cable and run it in the filler neck to push it open or take filler neck hose off, you have to have less than 1/2 a tank or your gas will be on the ground.
