Transmisson or gas pedal disconnect

I have a 2010 mercury mariner ,
several times car acts like the
transmission or gas pedal is
disconnected. Has happened at
various speeds . Any idea what is
causing this ?

had lots of problems with throttle bodies. it will most likely need replacing
