CD player will not keep CD

I have a 8W7T-18C815-AA  Radio in my Mercury and when I put in a disc it is
returned and will not load even it being a 6 disc player

I suspect the mechanism is broken inside the unit. Find a used replacement, or go aftermarket, finding a shop to take yours apart and repair will far exceed the price of a used one.
