I have a 2010 Legacy and there is a thick gooy stuff on either side of the front portion of the hood. It is almost like a paste.

the stuff is on both sides of the front portion of the hood. Some of it is on the hood, but the vast majority is to the left and right of the grill. It is thick, sticky and cannot be easily wiped off. What can ti be?

It's on the outside on either corner of the hood. There is a little on the hood but most of the slime is below. It could be grease but where is it coming from.
