Changing coolant in 09 nissan sentra, base model
with 2.0 L engine 4 cyclinder. Manual says to open
engine drain plug but doesn't say where it is.

Yes that is the radiator plug which drains the radiator. However There is another one on the engine that I can't find.

On my 99 sentra it is behind heat shield on cylinder block, front facing, just a little lower than center. You can get to it without removing the heat shield. 12mm hexagon, looks like many other bolts on the engine but as you are unscrewing it, you will see that the circumference of the threaded part is almost as large as the head. if you remove radiator cap, the coolant will shoot out, so be careful to remove the cap slowly.
