removing awd

My mechanic told me it's only 2wd and I could
drive it....minor noise but it won't drive before at
all...will it damage the car to drive it locally for 20
before I fix it?

Ok. So rule #1. When something breaks on a car, you stop driving it, and you fix it. The reason automobile repair is expensive is because once something is damaged, that leads to more wear and tear on another part or system, and then that goes out, and so on, and so on. Most insurance plans have towing (I know ours does). Call your insurance company to see if you're covered and schedule a tow to the shop to avoid damaging the vehicle further. Best of Luck!
