Question type: Maintenance & Repair

This has happened two times. After I installed a new Alternator and new
belts and tighten up the Belt Adjustment bolt and the belt was tight.
Then after driving back and forth to Wi. about 900 miles total and I hear
the squeak of a belt and yes the bolt is loose again. So has anyone had
this problem? BTW I am a Mechanic of 30 years and I have never
heard of this?

What engine? 2.0L or 2.7L? Are you saying the belt tensioner bolt is coming loose or the pulley bolt? Replace the tensioner assembly? Try locktite?

Engine 2.0 Gas , On Kias they have a bolt and a bracket which supports the upper Alternator bolt .It is not the tensioner that was taken care of earlier last year. As viewed from above the upper bracket is bolted in the engine block and then that same bracket has a slot in it were the long adjustment bolt goes thru ,when you get the belt tight enough you can lock it all down with the upper bolt so not movement should happen. I also don't see where I would use Loctite .
