Question type: Car Selling & Trading In

situation?

CarGurus is just an advertising site, like newspaper classifieds, and they don't take responsibility for any ads. Your gripe is with the shit-for-brains used car dealer you dealt with. It's your responsibility to protect yourself. From now on, get a mechanic to review any car you're serious about buying prior to actual purchase... I do recommend you apprise CarGurus of this by clicking on Contact Us at the bottom of this page.

There's no such thing as a Cargurus "accredited" dealer. Cargurus is an advertising site only. Similar to Craigslist, Facebook Marketplace, etc. Anyone can advertise a vehicle for sale here. Most little used car dealers buy from the auto auctions and don't know much more about the vehicles their selling than you. Next time do your homework, read the vehicle history report, and possibly have the vehicle inspected by a professional inspection company before you decide to buy! I've used lemonsquad.com for my inspections with excellent results! Hope that helps! Jim
