What does all wheel drive mean?

All wheels receive power / torque from the engine through the drivetrain. At the cost of more weight and complexity (minor consideration) Also as a cause of inherent design fuel ECONOMY suffers. Drive both models of a vehicle that offers (AWD) as an option see you "like" it.
