Question type: Maintenance & Repair

Less than 30,000 miles and have had to replace two rear power window lifters: right one
under warranty period, and now the left one outside warranty period...no one uses them
as I have very few instances were folks ride in the back!

Same. I've had my BMW for 10+ years. I have replaced the rear window regulators a total of 4 times. This has been a serious defect, something even the 90s models struggled with. BMW has not fixed it for a period of 10+ years. From what I know, the rear window amplifiers are in the trunk versus the driver ones are in the door. And it's only the rear ones that break down. Replacing a window regulator 4 times in 10 years just seems excessive to me. It's a nuisance enough for my to contemplate switching to another brand. Like bimmers but it seems super negligent on the manufacturers part to not address a persistent and known defect.
