Why can I not adjust the temperature in the cab?

Asked by GuruBCR1D Dec 28, 2018 at 07:12 PM about the 2009 Ford Ranger XLT SuperCab 4WD

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

The fan blows cool air when selector is set on AC Max only.  I get good heat
when selector is on heat.  The temperature control knob will not adjust the
temperature so it's either too cold or too hot.  I can't achieve a comfortable
temperature in the cab.

The blend door actuator is bad and is stuck in heat, when you move the lever or whatever to Max A/C the coolant to the heater core is shut off so it takes a minute or Two then gets cold. I think you can get to the actuator without removing the heater case. I hope this helps, take care
