Since it appears to have occurred only once, and replacing the fuse fixed the problem, it seems not to be a dead short or a problem with the pump in the vehicle. Pray it was just a faulty fuse or a loose connection in the fuse box that caused the fuse to fail. Trying to trace a sporadic short (maybe caused by vibration) is almost impossible to find. If you have the time and willingness to try, check out the wiring diagram and begin checking physical connections for possible problems. It will take a while on your back.
