2009 Jeep Patriot

Asked by Guru7G2P Sep 30, 2018 at 02:16 PM about the 2009 Jeep Patriot Sport

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

I read several comments on this page
that all state the same issue with their
patriot. My Jeep transmission over-
heats in the highway if the speed is
over 45 mph. This is unbelievable. No
veheicle should have this issue,
where you can’t go anywhere long
distance without worrying about over
heating n pulling over to cool down.
What’s the point of having a Jeep you
can’t drive anywhere. Going to bring
it tomorrow to my mechanic, so I’m
sure he’ll be straight up. Hopefully
he’ll just do a flush, but if it needs a
new transmission...I’m definitely filing
a claim. Only have my Jeep 8 months
n still got payments. Not happy.

You may want to add a transmission cooler. The CVT is a POS. A cooler can help it live longer.
