2005 Ford Escape Oil Change

So I brought my car to a friend's shop for a quick
change of spark plugs since I hate dealing with V6.
I supplied the parts and he charged me $50. When
I picked up the car he told me he even changed the
oil for me, which I did not want him to do. I have
changed the oil myself religiously with Motorcraft
5w20 and use only Motorcraft filters. He used
5w30 Mobil synthetic and who knows what kind of
filter since I haven't gotten underneatgh it yet to
see.  Not wanting to ruin a friendship over an act of
generosity, I'm trying to decide if I should just undo
that and change my oil again right now. The car is
at 125k miles. Am I just being ocd and freaking out
for no reason?

The oil is fine at that weight, the Duratec can run on 5w30 just fine, especially since it's full synthetic? How often do you change it yourself? 5K? I'd leave it, maybe change it sooner than later if your concerned.

Ford farms out the filters to Purolater and they are not top of the line. Try synthetic media filters for the best efficiency.
