Popping noise

I have a 2009 ford focus and it made a popping noise when
I turned today, It is the first time its done it, and i was
wondering what it was and if it is safe to drive it

That noise was probably a worn CV joint at one/both front wheels. A repair shop might be willing to check it out for free, hoping to get to repair it. And you should get it repaired as it will only get worse and could become a safety issue.
