CAN TPMS LIGHT BE DISABLED?
No, just have the valve stem in the wheel that is causing the light to illuminate replaced or add air to the tires. You will need to scan the car with the proper equipment to find which tire it is. A local tire shop can help.
Good answer, but I should have stated my problem clearly. I am getting new wheels and don't want to buy new sensors! Is there a fuse or a plug that can be disconnected?
Nope your stuck with a light, unless you buy sensors for the wheels. I got a really good buy on eBay, paid 60 bucks for a brand new set still in packaging. Might try there.
In my opinion the TPMS is one of the best features on a newer cars. Bite the bullet and put tire pressure sensors in the new wheels.
Nope, you can not legally disable the TPMS system. If a vehicle is equipped with it the Federal Government now requires it to be hooked up. HTH. -Jim
