09 Ford Escape jerks only in drive NOT moving.

Asked by Tina Mar 02, 2020 at 02:09 AM about the 2009 Ford Escape XLT AWD

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

09 Ford Escape XL. jerks in drive with foot on the brake.  Idle doesn't seem
like it is going to cut off but just kind of jerks back and forth.  Once you start
to drive it is fine.  Check Engine light IS on.  Does not pop a code.  Throddle
Body already been replaced, this is NOT that issue.
Had Check Engine light cleared since it did not code, stayed off for a mnth
and now back on.
Again ONLY "shakes"(jerks) in drive with brakes on.  AKA sitting at a red
light.  Once you put in Park it idles smooth again

So it shake when in gas pedal on initial revs to the limit

cranks perfect, revs fine, drives good, but when you come to a stop like at a red light or stop sign and truck is still in drive but your foot is on the brake not gas, it jerks. Never shuts off just jerks not hard but enough to make your body shake until you let off brake and drive or change to park.

I did not even think simple. Figured it would be a mystery fix like the throddle body. hahaha Thank you

Any update on what the issue is? I have a 09’ Escape and experience the same issues.
