When the key is turned to the run position, look at the instrument warning lights to see if they prove out. In a good staten, the lights will flash until prove out for a particular system is complete, and then extinguish. The fuel pump is a motor and does not click for any reason. What does or should click is the fuel pump relay. If it does not click, I would inspect the fuel pump fuse and the fusible links first followed by a fuel pump relay functional test. When the ignition switch is set to the run position, power is supplied to the fuel pump relay which is then armed and provides power to the fuel pump for three seconds to pressurize the fuel system, afterwhich it disarms. I would first check the fuel pump fuse to determine if it is continuous, followed by the fuel pump relay test. A fuse check requires either a test light, a multimeter, or a replacement fuse. The relay test consists of listening for two relay clicks three seconds apart as soon as the key is turned to run. If the relay clicks, both are serviceable and then I would check for power at the fuel pump connector. If you have power at one lead, check the other for ground, but remember that you'll only have power for the seconds so you'll need an assistant to keep resting the the key to run. If you have power and ground, you have a faulty fuel pump or another open circuit.
