converter issue

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

My wifes vehicle pulled up (2) codes, P0420 & P0171. what is the calibration
threshold for a catalytic converter on a 2009 chevy aveo

Catalytic converters are designed to last the lifetime of the vehicle, when they do fail its usually because something has caused it to. P0171 is a lean condition that could be caused by either a vacuum leak, an exhaust leak or an issue with the front o2 sensor or its wiring, deal with sorting out that code before anything else as it could be the cause of p0420
