Assuming all problems are fixed, I found two ways to turn the light off after repairs. Locate the fuse panel cover under the steering column. Pull down on it with your fingers to remove it. Examine the diagram on the fuse panel cover and find the electronic control unit fuse. Remove the fuse puller from inside the fuse panel and use it to pull the fuse out for the electronic control unit. Put the key into the ignition and turn on the car but don't turn over the engine. Wait a few minutes then put the fuse back in place. You should notice the check engine light blinking a few times on the instrument panel, then it will go off. Turn off the engine and replace the fuse panel cover.

This is for if you have an OBD scanner. Open the fuse panel under the steering column in the driver's side footwell by pulling down on the fuse-panel cover with your fingers. Plug the OBD (onboard diagnostic) scan tool plug into the open access port to the left of the main fuse panel. The access port is rectangular in shape and will accept the OBD plug. Turn on the ignition (but don't start the engine) and power up the OBD scan tool. Wait for the OBD scan tool display to read "OK." This indicates that the tool has retrieved the engine fault codes. Then, press the "Clear" button on the front of your scan tool. This will clear all engine fault codes and turn off your check-engine light.
