Is the truck 4x4 ? it could be a front CV joint is going bad and turning the wheel throws off the balance from centrifical force (spinning to a center axis) into a centripetal force (expanding the spinning circle path as it spins). Centrifical forces want to find the center, Centripetal forces want to find the outer most circumference it can spin out to.

how many miles are on your truck? it is common to need to replace the front wheel bearings on these. just had mine done 2 months ago.
