The 2008 Mini Cooper S that I am buying was imported from Germany and not the UK, is there a good reason for this?

Actually, I live in the US. The dealer made a note, and the Carfax says it was manufactured in Germany and shipped to the US. Guess the dealer thought that was a selling point, and I can't figure out if that was common for 2008 or not. I'm sure it makes no difference, but I had to ask.
