Does a 1986 (import) Grand AM. Pontiac SE have to conform to UK legislation for MOT

Asked by Chippie Oct 27, 2014 at 09:31 AM about the 1986 Pontiac Grand Am SE

Question type: General

Hi
The car is in really good nic although it has been off the road since 1997
The lights do not conform ref uk etc. the rear indicator flashes red as the full lense is  red
The indicator on the front is different col as well , it has no fog lights ( this can be added )
but to alter the others takes away from the originality of the car and if extra lights have to
be added would take away from it being a classic.  Any answers

After trying all avenues I ended up going to DVLA and here is there reply Dear Sir, The vehicle will be tested as per the MOT Inspection Manual - available on line at - https://www.gov.uk/government/collections/mot-testing-guide-inspection- manuals-and-special-notices As you see the test station does not have discretion. Regards Ian Marsh Trade Engagement So I have to add lights as required From:        Thomas B B Brown To:        "mattersoftesting@vosa.gov.uk" , Date:        31/10/2014 18:48 Subject:        Grand AM Pontiac SE. 1986.
