I have a 2008 Honda Civic. I got my oil changed awhile back at tire kingdom. I feel like my 15% oil life light should have come on by now but it has not. My car is starting to make loud noises and vibrating. Is it possible the oil life light isn't going to come on?

i have an 07 accord and if you go through your odometer it also shows the oil life. ie when it goes from trip a to trip b it also has oil life. is there a check engine light on?

Thanks a bunch for the response. No. I don't have any lights on the dash. Good to know about viewing the oil life. I will check that out. I just feel long overdue for an oil change and the light has automatically always come on. Thanks again!

CB I have owned a myriad of vehicles from high end sports cars to the average commuter car and I have never relied on any type of warning light or idiot light as they are commonly referred to, in servicing a vehicle. Here is the skinny on oil: If you service the vehicle with a dealer or do it yourself (4-5 fresh Quarts & a new filter) you have 3K miles of normal use until the next oil/filter change and in between you top it off if you see the dipstick gets low from a 1/4 to 1/2 Qt. Now, if you go say; from NY to Florida (1,145 miles) and back to NY (2,292 miles) I'd change the oil as soon as I return because that engine has endured much harder service than going around town even if you changed it before you left for Fla. Also the color of the oil should always guide you as it should be close to the color on the bottle which is close to honey which is clear and never should it be dark, black, inky or the color of tar. 3 things to keep in mind how close are you to the 3K and what color is it? and if you drove it on a long trip change it. But never wait for dash lights its sort of waiting for an EKG to flat line to find your heart is not ok.

CB if you can use (afford) synthetic oil you will see a higher performance and a smoother engine than you are presently experiencing barring your Civic noises & vibrations are not from internal engine damage. Think if you were given a choice between high-end blood and low end blood circulating through your heart why would you choose the low end? Remember when Cowboys reached a water hole they took off their hats filled them and gave their horses the first drink before they drank... think always of your machine as they did about their horses and it will last you forever I always use the best my money can buy and I do not service it at Pep Boys or sears only at the dealer.
