Issue with 2008 softop

I have a 2008 Jeep Wrangler X and I've noticed recently that when the soft top is up and all the corners tucked in and firmly secure, the noise in the left corner is awful at all speeds.  Obviously it's a Wrangler and I don't expect it to be silent like a car but with the amount of noise, I might as well have the top down.  While looking the jeep at front corners with the top down, it almost looks like there used to be some type of soft foam that used to be there but has melted down from the heat of the sun???  Any ideas???  Was there a piece of foam in the front corners at one time?

We have a lot of expensive and dangerous problems here on the forum- and I take them all seriously- but, C"MON! You have a Jeep Wrangler with a soft top. This is the vehicle that men fought and died with in the 2nd World War and the Korean War. This is what they fought for?! Get a hardtop. Get a Toyota. Or just throw the top away and get wet and cold and take that Jeep somewhere else other than the mall and the manicurist.
