Question type: Maintenance & Repair

the codes are
P0571 Cruise Control/Brake Switch A Circuit Malfunction
P0573 - Cruise Control/Brake Switch A Circuit High
C107C - Brake Pedal swithch 1/2 Stuck
C107D - brake pedal switch 1/2 correlation

Brake lights work, It is a Cop car they did have the wire from the brake switch to the lights split into a switch so they can turn on and off their brake lights but i took out the simple switch and connected the wires so my brake lights work. Already changed brake stop lamp.

There is a sensor/switch at the brake pedal (behind) see if its damaged or loose. Check the fuses. May need to put that switch back in to see if it works with it. Sounds like it is tied to the brake switch that stops the cruise control when you hit the brake and its in the off position full time now

fuses are good. What sensor am i looking for behind the pedal the brake switch goes in with it and its adjusted. It qorks since my brake lights come on when depressed and turns off when the pedal comes back up. The ground is good for the brake switch.

Did you have the codes before taking out the on/off switch? For the code brake light 1/2 stuck, Need to locate the reason why it thinks its 1/2 depressed or stuck, it may be that that circuit needs to be on a switch you took out meaning when the cop decided to not use his brake lights the cruise also does not work if its gone it thinks it is on brake full time and cruise will not work, But now circuit thinks the pedal is depressed & cruise will not work until its fixed. I am just trying to figure this out, circuits sometime work backwards compared to what is common to what we think is happening. Will your scanner clear those code too if so clear them and see if they come back if not try the cruise and see if the code reappears or works or not, it may need a new cruise control switch instead of brake switch, I have heard that a dealership even has a hard time replacing the cruise switch.

I cleared the Codes and when i start my car the moment i depress the brake pedal my ESP BAS and Traction control light all come on. It takes a couple days and my system will learn to bypass it and my lights wont come on again when i depress the pedal itll take while for the lights to show up randomly.

Speed sensor, safety glitches, Foot on the brake too long. This is one for the dealership repair shop and be ready to say ouch. It may also be why the cruise has took a vacation.

It may be stored in the computer but since all the lights go off after a while it is a soft code which means you need a $5-10 thousand dollar scanner to read it, it puts out a read out that has all of the computers functions and will show faults in data form, which then can be listing in codes for the machine user to locate the issue and I thick some of those are read from the transmission which a normal scanner can not see trans.

For the record, you do NOT need a "$5k-10 thousand dollar scanner" to read ABS codes! My $88 Autel MD703 Elite will read ABS, SRS, Transmission and engine codes.

Mine was the cluster itself. Replaced it with a used one from ebay with same model from the cluster itself and close mileage and fixed it. For the codes its either the brake switch or the wires to it in the back or PCM which is like $200 for a brand new one programmed from ebay or your cluster.

Instrument cluster its the dash itself. If you take it out on the back will be what exactly cluster you have type that on google and ebay and places like that will have them probably around same mileage to. Mine cluster was bad tho because someone was messing with the wires and shit 12V into a wire that only suppose to be 9V so it fried the clusters computer. I would first replaced the $10 brake switch itself and read the voltage and make sure the ground is good on it first before changing cluster. I have the diagram for the wires to test it but have to send it though email
