I hear a strange rattling noise when I drive over bumps or uneven pavement under the front side of my 2008 Dodge charger. I've replaced struts and sway bar links yet the noise is still there. Any ideas?

I had the same issue with my 2006 RT and had to replace the upper and lower control arms.

break caliper rubber bushings if so equipted....rubber bushings sometime disintegrate inside the caliper , then the caliper rattles when you hit bumps.

My 2014 Charger had a rattle up front and it would happen over the smallest of bumps in the road. Come to find out it was the right front inner fender well that was loose. Whom ever checked the power steering the last time did not put back in all of the plastic holders/rivets/bolts. Drove me crazy but I finally conquered!

I might add that I have been chasing this rattle for a long time and have seen lots and lots of posts saying the rattle is brake pads, shock tower, torsion bar, motor mounts, etc. you name it. The truth is, is that there is no way to get online and say you have a rattle and someone else know what it is. Its impossible. You just have to go towards the area of the noise and get dirty. Crawl under there and grab anything and everything and shake it, all the while looking for rub marks where the dirt has been rubbed off. Good luck!

Brake shield -especially, if brake work was resently done (or other work near there) because they get bent easily and it doesn't take much to get them to interfere with the turning rotor and or while making turning. If they are corroded at the connection point (s) 3 bolts. You need to remove rotor, bolts and replace with stainless washers on the rotor side then put bolts back. Cheapest and ,mostlikely, one of the easier fixes -so start there. If you're rich just replace the shields at about a couple hundred for both. Lol
