2008 volvo s40 2.4i ECM Issue

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

I have an ECM that the processor has overheated and shorted the computer
internally. My question is; can I get a different ECM off of Ebay or junk yard that
is for my same year, make, and model volvo? The fan motor and AC do not
currently work due to the issue with my current ECM. Please help. Thank you

The number in the center below that top barcode is the part number. It will need to be programmed, and you can do that through a company like Xemodex rather than using the dealer. The Volvo dealer will only be able to program a brand new ECM, which will cost much more than a used unit. They offer a service where you can supply them with a good used unit, then send that and your current ECM to them, and they will clone it and return it to you.
