08 Navigator jerking when turning.

Asked by Jesse Nov 07, 2018 at 01:49 AM about the 2008 Lincoln Navigator L 4WD

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

Ok so I don’t know much about vehicles. I
have a 2008 Lincoln Navigator Limited 4WD.
First my engine is misfiring but not throwing a
code on anything scanners I’ve used. I’ve
used $10-$3000 scanners. Spark plugs
maybe? Cause a coil should send a code.
Second question, I noticed that every time I
would turn a full steering wheel turn plus a
half, my car would jerk and I’d have to press
harder on the gas to make it go. Does this
both forward and reverse. Noticed one day I
heard what sounds like my back tire skipping
like it wasn’t spinning. Had it in 4x4.
Switched it to 4x4 auto and it no longer jerks
or sounds like the tire isn’t spinning. Is this
normal? Or possibly a rear differential issue?

1 Answer

Yea figured out the turning is normal for a 4x4. But a fuel injector or fuel pump would throw a code. The issue has to be mechanical and not electrical or it would have thrown a code.
