2008 Hyundai Accent gs 1.6 liter Wont turn over, no sound, just dead.

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

My 2008 Hyundai Accent GS 1.6 Liter wont turn over. You try to crank it over
and there's nothing, no sound, dead. The dash lights still come on. I took the
battery and had it tested and its very good. Its only 1 yr old anyways. I either
keep thinking.....its the starter or the timing belt? What do you guys think? I
keep the car up well. It has 156,000 miles. I have NOT ever gotten the timing
belt replaced. But I'm just guessing. Let me know. Thank you ahead of time.

If it's the timing belt, the starter will still engage. If the starter's not engaging, it could be the starter itself, but check your fuses, relays, and wires between the battery and starter.

Thanks. I'm going to get out the multi meter and start checking electrical. I pretty much figure its the starter though. Thanks for the response :) Robert
