I new help with my 08 Pontiac g6

Asked by crystalFig Jul 20, 2015 at 12:27 AM about the 2008 Pontiac G6 GT Coupe

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

So i purchased a 2008 Pontiac g6 and
backs i got it lease the bank requested a
GPS so when the guy installed the gps the
first three times my car wouldn't want to
start so he had to come back for the fourth
time and move it and connect it to the
cigarette lighter because my car was not
wanting to start and was popping off with
check engine light and transaction control.
So they remove it and after they removed it
the same lights were popping off but this
time my car wouldn't want to start !! What
could have gone wrong ? Help
please.

Why in the world would the bank ask you to install a GPS?? VERY strange. But anyway, sounds like the installer screwed up and miswired the thing. Tell the installer to fix it and get it right this time (or sue their sorry asses). If for whatever reason, they can't get it done properly, just talk to a local GM Dealer Service Shop about it.

I have no idea this is my first time buying a car leased so i can build my credit and the bank requested a gps for idk what reason ? Thank you!!

I honestly don't know what to think about your situation. First of all, you are leasing (and not buying) a 7 year old car? That is a scenario I've never heard of (I know you can lease used cars though). Looks like this bank wants to be able to track your car down easily and be able to repo it if you miss a payment or 2. That's gotta be the reason they wanted that GPS installed. My advice, pay off the car as soon as possible and never do business with this bank again. Do you have a sub-prime or low credit score??

Yes that's what i did put down payment and paying the bank the rest. And no im 19 years old and this is my first time leasing a car.

"They want to know where the car is at all times and talked you in to the lease because if you miss a payment THEY CAN COLLECT THE ENTIRE BALANCE OF REMAINING PAYMENTS EVEN WHEN THEY TAKE THE CAR BACK AND KEEP IT. With a regular car loan it doesn't work that way I'm truly sorry I don't have an answer for the electrical problems this thing caused, hopefully you can just disconnect it and have it reinstalled properly ."
