2008 equinox IAC valve

Asked by ArmorJ Apr 27, 2022 at 11:48 AM about the 2008 Chevrolet Equinox LT AWD

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

Drives and starts great. When stopped at a red light, it will idle up over

2000rpm. Sending code p0507 which is the IAC valve. Where is it located? I

have replaced the throttle body and the wife had the throttle pedal replaced by

a mechanic.

The code tells you where the problem is not what to replace , it still has to be diagnosed by someone that knows what they're doing . The IAC valve is probably part of the new throttle body .

Sounds like a vacuum leak. But you can try this. Unplug the IAC. Clear the computer with a scan tool or code reader. Turn off the ignition. Plug the IAC back in and start the engine. This should allow the computer to learn the closed position of the new IAC. Hope that helps! Jim

BTW a P0507 code is just telling us that the engine is idling higher than it should. It's not telling us the IAC is bad. I still vote for a vacuum leak. Jim
