Question type: Maintenance & Repair

Outside temp was 90, display panel showed "Coolant" message, with Temp around 210, idling. Popped hood & shut off engine. Thought I would see and hear cooling fan running, but it was not. Safe to drive to dealer, 10 miles away ?
Coolant surge tank is about 1/2 full, and was not boiling !

try turning on the a/c and see if the fan comes on, if not turn the heat on inside the car and drive it, should be ok as long as you keep an eye on the gauge.

I rand the heater full blast yesterday, for a few minutes, and it did drop the temp about 5-6 degrees. From what I have been able to garner from other topics, the 210 is considered about normal, and the fan should not come on til around 265 or so....Does that sound correct ?
