It sounds to me like the car is having some serious vacuum issues. I found a link to a website that shows a bunch of trouble areas that might help properly diagnose this issue which i will post a bit after this. One video i found which is simalure to yours said he replaced the pcv valve and prv valve fixed the issue. how many miles do you have on this car? and when was the last proper tune up? such as plugs and wires and fuel filter and such? once you have the car fixed I would do a proper tuneup. Bringing a car out of the pits can be hard if the maintenance has been lackinging. When i had my old 1998 audi i was still doing repairs on it 7 years later to keep it running right and i still had not fully fixed it before i got rid of it. I would probably have the whole vacuum system torn down cleaned out and replace what looked to worn out I did that the second year after i bought my 1998 as the hosing was pretty cheap. still have spare hose for it today :P any who go over the link i am provideing and have the trouble area's fixed and try replacing those two valves i mentioned if you have not done so already. It would not be a bad thing either to break down the air system and remove the thortle body and have it cleaned and then reinstalled with a new gasket and clean all the sensors in the air way as well. should help. https://www.pelicanparts.com/techarticles/Audi_B6_A4/47-ENGINE- Fixing_Common_Vacuum_Leaks/47-ENGINE-Fixing_Common_Vacuum_Leaks.htm
