why does the 4x4 light stay on

2008 h3 hummer alpha.
three 4x4 buttons. 4x4 high, 4x4 low lock, 4x4 high lock.
4x4 high button stay illuminated.

glitch in the body control Module possible .

ok i have a 2005 hummer h3, lights in the console of the 4x4 r off and the transfer it doesnt conect, i want to know the voltage on the wires in the transfer motor case

You are in 4 wheel drive..Stop,put in Neutral shut off engine keep ignition to on position ,alternate button back and forth from 4 wheel to the other wheel drives this may take 10 to 20 select you should hear the solinoid engage and disingage!this should be done once a mo to keep all switches free of rust .
