2008 Subaru tribeca differential sensor

My rear differential light has been coming on and
off so I had the fluids everything changed it's still
it's doing it which means that the sensors probably
melted a bit where is the sensor because when
they were looking he said he couldn't find the
sensor he said it's probably inside the entire rear
differential so I was reading that people unplug
something and cleaned it and plug it back in or
whatever it is please somebody help me I just want
to fix my car I'm disabled and I need my car
somebody please just try and give me an answer if
it's inside the entire piece or if there is an actual
sensor that can be replaced I just want to fix it and
so does my mechanic

My 2010 Tribeca did same thing and found the connector in the rear of differential was very rusty. Removed it and cleaned with electronic spray (safe for plastic connectors) and scraped clean contacts. Better now. Once I was sure, I used my finger to press acrylic calking into back of connector to keep water out.
