I had that problem many years ago with my 1979 Vette. It ended up being the parking brake which is located 'in' the rear wheel assembly. If they have never been accessed before the rotors need to be drilled out and removed then you can check out the parking brake assembly (which is like a mini drum brake). Fred

Wheel bearings? Drive shaft bearings? Grinding noise or a ticking noise that increases as the speed goes up? Try pressing on the brake and see if it goes away. May be a pad not seated or in straight also. Check thehalf shafts and make sure nothing is touching them, check for wear marks on the half shafts, and drive shaft also.
