Oil leaking from harmonic balancer and oil pan bolts

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

My car started to run hot so I pulled over. When I
opened hood to my surprise motor oil was leaking
badly an sprayed around a little. I towed the car
home and jacked it up to find oil leaking from
where the harmonic balancer and oil pan is bolted
together. In picture it's the middle bolt. Is it leaking
from bolt or gasket?? How can I fix this?? Will I
need any special tools??

You may need a new front crank seal and maybe a new pan gasket. I would clean it and try to see exactly where the oil is coming from.

We wiped it down and put a quart of oil in the engine and started it. It started to leak out of the grayish material and down the bolts. As you can see in the picture it's still a little oil on the middle and right bolt. Oil was mostly coming down from middle bolt. What do you think?? Maybe just pan gasket??
