Ihave a 2008 grandprix and it will only go in reverse any suggestions

That's definitely something broken or worn out inside the transmission Possibly a burned forward apply band, or worn out servo seals. a broken input sprag or forward drum to name just a couple things. The trans needs to come out, to be torn down and inspected.
