Question type: Maintenance & Repair

I have a 2008 Pontiac Grand Prix base model
that I replaced the battery in and when I
started it back up it was in limp mode
(reduced engine power) I have replaced the
throttle body and foot pedal assembly and still
won’t come out out reduced power I’ve
trained the new pedal and deleted problem
code twice with no change it’s giving me
U0107 lost communication with throttle
actuator control module. Can anyone tell me
what part it is that’s causing that code to be
thrown? I’m pretty dumb founded at the
moment and I really need this car running
again cause I’m in Montana and it’s -31 today.
Also when I have the car started i will push the
throttle pedal and it’s like I’ve never touched
it, absolutely no response. Any help with be
greatly appreciated

The problem could easily be in the grounds, wiring and electrical connections that connect all the components together. Before replacing any more parts go through the wiring itself and make sure all connections are clean and tight. This includes several different grounds and the battery connections. All these things start to deteriorate on older cars and can make the computer think components are failing when in fact the connections are failing. If you're not up to the task yourself, find a shop that is.

Thank you for the information I will definitely try this when the weather gets a bit warmer cause working with plastic parts and pieces like wiring in such cold weather give you a higher chance of something else breaking from being bitter cold and brittle
