Batter saver active

Asked by Keisha Jan 17, 2019 at 01:29 AM about the 2008 Chevrolet Impala LS FWD

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

A few days ago my 2008 chevy implala's DIC
popped up a warning "Battery saver active" and
within a couple hours the car would not start. I
would have lights but could not get the car running.
My husband replaced the battery and with in 2
days the warning appeared again and my car shut
down completely with only enough energy to show
the check engine light. If replacing my cables does
not work, what else could be the cause of my of
car not getting any power and how do i diagnose
this?

I have a 2017 Tahoe that displayed this 2 weeks ago. Had to get a jump start from someone. Ac would turn down low. Went straight to the dealer they said it was a faulty battery and replaced it with a new one. Yesterday it did the same thing again. Back to the dealer ship. They had it for 4 hours and said there is nothing wrong with it. Now I'm nervous to be stranded.

Check out all battery cable connections. If all of the above has failed I would suggest testing that the alternator is putting out the proper voltage.

If your alternator and battery works just fine, the battery current sensor on the negative cable is the problem

Right but did you change that little sensor that is connected to it?
