Is there white goop under the oil fill cap ? If you can get it started see if the exhaust is white the head gasket may have blown out . If it got hot and you didn't shut it down right away then you may have done more damage , Have the codes read and do a compression test before you run out and buy a sensor . If there is major damage I would not invest any money into the car .

If it ran hot chances are high that the engine has suffered some serious damage as these vehicles are known to be just bad cars. I suggest you tow it to your favorite independent shop and have it checked. If it has engine damage then just see if someone will buy it as is cause its not worth spending any money on.

THAT LIGHTNING BOLT LIGHT ON THE DASH IS just telling you that THERE'S A PROBLEM with the ELECTRONIC THROTTLE CONTROL SYSTEM..... When you overheated, that system was damaged..... That's all.
