I did not have any problems with mine. I'd take it in to the dealership and have them check it out before there is a problem. You should have the lifetime powertrain warranty on this so you can rest assured that the transfer case is covered even if a problem develops outside your 3/36 basic warranty.

hey aga yea mine started the other day on a 2005 dodge ram with a 5.7 hemi in it. it doesnt slip at all and runs fine but everytime i put in or take out of gear it makes a clanking sound all of a sudden. took to transmission shop and they were at a lose, took to another shop and they said same thing. they are puzzled that it makes noise without slippage. let me know if you find out and ill do the same. mine doesnt make any noise while driving, just in and out of gear, any gear. its an automatic. thanks bud

I have a 2009 Dodge Ram 1500 and it started doing the same thing as with 4x4708 above. It drives great and shifts at speed very smoothly. Shifting from Park and through R, N, and D and back it makes a very noticible metallic clunking sound. I'm nervous about driving it until checked out but Dodge's next opening is 10 days out.

@Charles Did you ever find out what was wrong with your truck? I'm having the same problem today.
