Question type: Maintenance & Repair

was driving my 03 ram a couple weeks ago on the highway about 110 km and herd a
noise then it was like someone put the truck into nuetral now the truck only moves when 4
low is engaged and makes a really nasty noise, so would that be the transmission or the
transfer case that blew?

That sounds like a transmission. Extremely common on a Dodge ram. The transfer case is only engaged when the 4x4 is on.

OK so i was pissing around with it today and got it to move in 2high 4high and 4low but only when the tranny is cold it has a hard time grabbing gears when its been running for just over a miute

Is the fluid level low in the transmission and or the transfer case? If its not low the pump in the transmission is probably shot then.
