ORIGINAL SHOCKS

Asked by wellsman Jul 09, 2012 at 06:59 PM about the 2005 Ford Crown Victoria LX Sport

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

What are the Part Numbers and Manufacturer of the OEM Front and Rear shocks for a 2005 Crown Vic LX Sport with Air Suspension?

I am considering replacing the OEM shocks with Monroe Shocks which are specified for the Mercury Marauder (Front = 553001 and Rear = 550018).

Are there any reasons I should NOT make this change?

Thanks for your advice!

First of all go to http://www.fordparts.com Type in your information and it will tell you EXACTLY what the Ford part numbers are for your original OEM shocks and any other OEM part that you might need as well. It is a VERY Helpful site for anyone who owns a Ford , Lincoln or Mercury vehicle and needs parts or part numbers. Then go to Advance auto parts website at http://shop.advanceautoparts.com and register and type in your vehicle info, then type in Shocks in the search box and it will pull up the Monroe replacement shock absorber part numbers for your specific car and you'll be able to match up your Monroe numbers, plus they offer a live chat so you could ask them about your Mercury Marauder shocks and if they will work on your Ford C.V. Sport. which BTW is just a cheaper version of the Mercury Marauder so I'm assuming they will but might not give you the ride and comfort that you want.. Good Luck, Kenny./ Mr Blue Oval P.S.
